概要

 We will go over the importance and proper usage of “power adjectives” that positively highlight our skill sets and accomplishments to demonstrate success in the business world.

2. 人間関係をスムーズにする井戸端会議の活用法  Water Cooler Talk 
Water cooler chats build and strengthen relationships in the workplace. In this session, we will learn and practice appropriate topics and how to smoothly navigate them. 

3. PCは英語ではパソコンではない！ PC is not personal computer but “POLITICALLY CORRECT”
This session will train students to be familiar with using proper language to avoid offending others and maintaining a safe culture in the workplace. The importance of gender-neutral terms will also be stressed.

4. ビジネスで効果的に使えるスポーツ用語  Sports Lingo in Business 
Sports phrases are increasingly used in business. Even if you are not familiar or interested in certain sports, it is very important to have a basic knowledge of the most common sports metaphors.

Michael K. Peters（ﾋﾟｰﾀｰｽﾞ　ﾏｲｹﾙ) 静岡県立大学言語コミュニケーション研究センター特任講師

講師紹介

ブランダイス大学卒業後早稲田大学大学院国際関係修士号取得、現在アムステルダム大学社会学研究科博士課程在籍。ESPN/ABCニュース（米国テレビ・放送局）ニュース・プロダクションアシスタント『Sportscenter』及び『Pardon The Interruption (PTI)』番組制作、大リーグ、ニューヨーク・メッツ通訳の経験があります。皆さんがビジネス英語を学び業界で国際的に活躍、成功するお手伝いをさせていただきます。See you in September!
