概要

Class 1: Awkward conversations and icebreakers
スムーズな会話の始め方
We will look at what phrases make a conversation awkward, and what make for good icebreakers by using example scenes from a comedy. Tone, pauses and stress patterns will be very important through-out this seminar.

Class 2: On the job conversations　職場での会話
Scenes will highlight discussions between coworkers and/or management and serve as examples in creating new, authentic speaking practice opportunities for the business environment.

Class 3: Misunderstandings　誤解を招かない会話
We will look at how scenes from dramas/soaps can provide natural phrasing to help express oneself clearly and compassionately to prevent cultural misunderstandings

Class 4: Medical terms　メディカルターム
Scenes will feature useful medical terms for use abroad in emergency situations.

氏名	Kinsella Valies (キンセラ　バリース) 静岡県立大学言語コミュニケーション研究センター特任講師
講師紹介	フォンティス大学（EFL）を卒業後、メアリーイマキュレットカレッジ、リムリック大学で応用言語学修士号取得。日本大学および明治学院大で教鞭を執る。研究分野：第二言語習得研究、言語学（タスクベース）、授業資料研究
